The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested a Nigerian man wanted by authorities in Niger Republic over the alleged murder of his business partner.
The suspect, identified as Mas’udu Saidu, was arrested in Gulma Town, Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Bashir Usman, disclosed the arrest in a statement issued on Friday.
According to Usman, Saidu allegedly stabbed his 38-year-old Nigerian business partner, Mas’udu Sani, to death while they were in Niger Republic.
He said the suspect reportedly fled Niger and returned to Nigeria after the incident in an attempt to escape arrest.

Following a request from Nigerien authorities and the declaration of Saidu as wanted, the Nigerian Police began efforts to locate him.
The search eventually led to his arrest in Kebbi State.
Usman confirmed that the suspect was in police custody and said investigations into the alleged murder were ongoing.
The police spokesperson also urged Nigerians living outside the country to conduct themselves responsibly and avoid actions that could negatively affect Nigeria’s image.
He added that suspects could not remain in hiding indefinitely, stressing that the law would eventually catch up with those accused of criminal offences.
