The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Lagos socialite Afolabi Kazeem, popularly known as KC Luxury, over a 184.5-kilogramme cocaine consignment valued at about N39 billion.
Kazeem was arrested on August 13 at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, while allegedly attempting to leave Nigeria for Paris on a business-class flight.
NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), disclosed the arrest on Tuesday during a press briefing.
According to the agency, Kazeem was arrested alongside Lawal Kehinde, an employee of a logistics company, in connection with the drug trafficking operation.
The NDLEA described the seizure as the largest cocaine consignment recovered from a courier company in the agency’s history.
Marwa said operatives intercepted Kazeem at the airport boarding gate as he allegedly attempted to flee the country.

The NDLEA chairman stated that the suspect was found with expensive jewellery, N100,000, £2,800 and €7,750 during the operation.
He added that exotic vehicles were also discovered at Kazeem’s residence in Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos.
Marwa said the arrest followed an intelligence-led operation targeting a drug trafficking network involved in the movement of large quantities of cocaine.
He stressed that the agency would continue to pursue individuals and networks involved in illicit drug trafficking across the country.
The suspects are expected to undergo further investigation and face prosecution in line with Nigerian law.
