A recently recruited Forest Guard trainee and son of the traditional ruler of Karaduwa in Katsina State, Zahiruddin Abdullahi Karaduwa, has been arrested alongside a woman identified as Sahiba over alleged involvement in supplying ammunition to suspected bandits.
The suspects were reportedly arrested over alleged ammunition movements around Matazu Local Government Area of the state.
In a video circulating online, Zahiruddin identified himself as the son of Abdullahi, the Mai Garin Karaduwa, and responded to questions concerning his alleged involvement in the supply of ammunition.
He denied being forced or coerced into making the statements during the questioning.
Zahiruddin acknowledged knowing Sahiba and reportedly agreed with allegations that they were involved in supplying ammunition to suspected bandits.
When asked whether he supplied ammunition to Sahiba for onward transportation to the suspected bandits, he answered in the affirmative.

He reportedly stated that he had handed ammunition to her on about six occasions.
According to his account, he obtained the ammunition from Kano through a man identified only as Muhammad before delivering it to another person.
He also mentioned an individual known as “Mai Nono” in connection with the alleged receipt of the ammunition.
Zahiruddin reportedly said the payment he received for his role varied, explaining that he sometimes received ₦30,000 and at other times ₦20,000, depending on the circumstances.
The development comes amid continuing security challenges in Katsina State, where several rural communities have experienced attacks, kidnapping and other criminal activities attributed to armed groups.
The allegations against the suspects remain subject to investigation by the relevant authorities.
