The Katsina State Hisbah Board in Dutsinma Local Government Area has arrested a native doctor and two women over alleged involvement in questionable spiritual practices.
According to the board’s information officer in Dutsinma, B. Yareema, the arrests were made under the supervision of local Hisbah commander Malam Shafi’u Ibrahim. The action followed a report from a husband who said he uncovered the alleged scheme involving his wife.
Hisbah said the native doctor had instructed the married woman to provide her husband’s semen to prepare a charm he claimed would be highly potent. He was also alleged to have told her to visit him alone whenever her husband was away to continue receiving the concoction.

The discovery of the arrangement led the husband to divorce his wife, the board stated. Preliminary investigations further revealed that the husband had been consulting another female native doctor through an unidentified woman, seeking help for what he believed was a spiritual attack against him.
The Hisbah Board said investigations are ongoing to establish the full details of the case and determine the appropriate disciplinary measures.
