
A teenage boy has been hospitalised after being knocked down by a hit-and-run driver while attempting to cross the Onipanu Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor inward to Fadeyi in Lagos State.
The incident occurred at about 4:30 pm on Wednesday, leaving the teenager with head and leg injuries.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said its Cobra Team arrived at the scene just two minutes after the incident.
The team provided immediate medical assistance before transporting the victim to the Trauma Centre for further treatment.

LASEMA Permanent Secretary, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, urged motorists to avoid reckless driving and speeding and to obey traffic regulations.
He also advised pedestrians to use pedestrian bridges and designated crossing points when crossing busy roads.
Earlier the same day, emergency responders attended to another crash involving a truck and a Toyota Camry near the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Onipanu, inward Fadeyi. No life was lost in the early-morning accident, which officials attributed to reckless driving and speeding.
The latest incident has once again raised concerns over road safety and the dangers faced by both motorists and pedestrians on Lagos roads.
