Confirming the incident, the National Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Moulders Association (BYM), Rwang Tengwong, described the attack as part of a troubling pattern of recurring violence in the area.
He noted that Dalyop’s body was discovered after the injured survivor, Mang Davou, managed to alert his family and residents.
According to Tengwong, the incident occurred shortly after a similar attack in the nearby Sabon Gidan Kanar area, further escalating fear and tension among residents.
“This latest killing has heightened anxiety within the community. People are increasingly worried about the repeated attacks and are calling for urgent intervention from security agencies,” he stated.
The BYM spokesperson urged security operatives, including Operation Enduring Peace, to swiftly investigate the incident, apprehend those responsible, and ensure they are brought to justice.
“Our communities deserve protection. Residents should be able to live without fear of violence,” he added.
As of the time of filing this report, the Plateau State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
