
The Osun State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of an unidentified woman whose body was discovered within a church premises in the Obelewo area of Osogbo.
According to police authorities, the woman was found with her left wrist severed, raising concerns about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Ani Iniedu, disclosed in a statement on Sunday that detectives immediately visited the scene after receiving a report about the discovery.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased had allegedly been killed before her left wrist was cut off and taken away by unknown individuals.

Police officials said the victim’s identity remains unknown, while investigators are still working to determine the motive behind the killing and the events that led to her death.
The body has been deposited in a hospital mortuary, where an autopsy will be conducted to assist investigators.
Meanwhile, the State Criminal Investigation Department has taken over the case and is continuing efforts to identify the victim, gather evidence, and apprehend those responsible for the crime.
Authorities have urged members of the public with useful information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
