An elderly woman was caught allegedly stealing food items from a farm in Kaduna State after the farmer noticed repeated cases of theft.
The farmer, identified as Flow Ginger, said he had been worried about farm produce going missing before he eventually caught the elderly woman.
According to him, the woman had allegedly taken items including corn, groundnuts and yam from the farm.
However, when she was confronted, the woman reportedly broke down and explained that hunger had pushed her to take the food.
She reportedly said her children live in the city but hardly visit or check on her.
The elderly woman also claimed that whenever she borrowed a phone to call her children, they would promise to help her but often failed to fulfil their promises.
