The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has launched legal proceedings against the Managing Director of Viscount Microfinance Bank, Blessing Gozi-Anyaokei, over an alleged investment fraud involving N19 million and $30,000.
The defendant was arraigned before the Federal High Court in Maitama, Abuja, on charges bordering on alleged illegal conversion of funds and obtaining money under false pretence.
Investigators claimed the money was handed over by a client, Ernest Terkula Jor, for investment purposes but was allegedly diverted for personal use instead.
According to court documents presented by the anti-graft agency, the transactions were said to have taken place in 2022 while Gozi-Anyaokei was serving as the bank’s managing director.
She pleaded not guilty to the charges after they were read before the court. Following the plea, prosecution counsel requested a date for trial, while the defence sought bail for the defendant.

The commission alleged that the suspect collected funds from a client under the guise of supplying 55 all-in-one desktop computers but failed to deliver the items. He was also accused of laundering the alleged proceeds through a bank account.
Ifeanachor pleaded not guilty, while the court ordered his remand at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending further hearing scheduled for July 6, 2026.
