
Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested three suspected kidnappers and rescued a victim during a security operation in Nasarawa State.
The operation, according to reports, led to the arrest of one of the suspects at a hideout in Atabula, Duduguru community, Jenkwe Development Area. Two other suspects were subsequently tracked and apprehended at a hotel in Lafia, the state capital.
During the operation, the security operatives reportedly destroyed the makeshift camp allegedly used by the suspected kidnappers. They also recovered cash, five mobile phones and other items believed to be linked to the criminal activities.
Reacting to the development, Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, commended the DSS and other security agencies for their efforts in tackling kidnapping and other forms of criminality across the state.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Addra, the governor described the arrests as a demonstration of the commitment and effectiveness of the security agencies.
Governor Sule urged the security operatives to sustain their efforts and remain resolute in the fight against criminal elements across Nasarawa State.
He also assured the security agencies of his administration’s continued support while appealing to residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information that could assist security agencies in preventing crime.
The governor stressed that collective vigilance and cooperation between residents and security agencies remain crucial to maintaining peace and security in the state.
