
A joint security operation involving troops of Sector 2, Operation Whirl Stroke, the Nigeria Police Force, and local vigilantes has led to the arrest of 42 suspected kidnappers in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The operation was carried out on July 11 following intelligence reports of suspected kidnapping activities in the communities of Nunku, Dundu, Takpir, and Akka.
Acting on the information, the combined security team launched coordinated clearance and cordon-and-search operations across the affected villages. The exercise resulted in the arrest of 42 suspects believed to be linked to kidnapping activities in the area.

Following the operation, all the suspects were handed over to the Nigeria Police Force at the Andaha Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and possible prosecution in accordance with the law.
Security authorities described the raid as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks responsible for kidnappings and other violent crimes across Nasarawa State.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining joint security operations aimed at protecting residents, restoring public confidence, and preventing criminal elements from operating within the state and neighbouring communities.
Residents have been encouraged to continue providing credible information to security agencies to support efforts to improve safety and tackle criminal activities in the region.
