Jamie Carragher believes Arsenal will win the Premier League if they beat West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday, after Manchester City dropped two crucial points in a dramatic 3-3 draw at Everton on Monday Night Football. City’s late rescue leaves Arsenal five points clear at the top with three games to play, while Pep Guardiola’s side have four matches left.
Carragher said the title is now in Arsenal’s hands. “If Arsenal win against West Ham next Sunday, they win the league,” he said. “From an Arsenal perspective, tonight is about the league. But can you imagine the stadium tomorrow against Atletico? The excitement, the energy from the fans to get to a Champions League final and the league is in your hands with three games to go.”
Arsenal face West Ham on Super Sunday, with kick-off at 4:30 p.m. They will go into that game fresh from their Champions League semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid at the Emirates on Tuesday. The Gunners need to win all three of their remaining Premier League fixtures to guarantee a first league title in 22 years.
Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry agreed the momentum has shifted but warned against complacency. “Now it’s back in Arsenal’s hands. It’s not in Man City’s hands anymore,” Henry said. “I said earlier that I could see City dropping points against Everton and that I’m worried about the West Ham game. I’m going to stay in my lane and not celebrate too early because nothing is done. I saw a bit of nervousness with City because they imploded. They brought Everton back into the game with some mistakes. Arsenal can see that Man City dropped two points, but you can’t start to think, ‘Now, maybe…’ There’s no maybe. Win your games. Don’t look at City. It’s in your hands.”

Manchester City fought back from 3-1 down at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with Erling Haaland pulling one back before Jeremy Doku scored a 97th-minute equaliser. Despite the late drama, Guardiola admitted the title is no longer in his side’s control. “It’s better than a loss. We played to win,” he said “It just shows what the team are. We tried and we have done it. It’s not in our hands. Before it was in our hands. Now, no. We have to do it in our four games that we have in the Premier League.”
Guardiola praised Everton’s physicality and composure, adding: “Really good performance. We played an outstanding first half. Second half, they made a step up. We didn’t have as much control and we gave away the goal. After that they come back and make a proper English game, so aggressive in the duels.”
With three games left, Arsenal control their own destiny. Beat West Ham, and as Carragher says, the Premier League trophy could be heading back to North London for the first time since 2004.
