
At least 10 residents have reportedly been killed while about 40 others were abducted following a night attack by bandits on Tofa community in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The attack was reported on Monday by security analyst Bakatsine in a post shared on X.
According to the report, the armed attackers stormed the community during the night, killing at least 10 people and leaving several others injured.
The assailants also reportedly kidnapped dozens of residents during the operation.

Bakatsine said local sources estimated that between 38 and 40 people were taken away, although the exact number of abducted residents was still being verified.
The attackers were also said to have rustled a large number of livestock and looted properties belonging to residents before fleeing the community.
The latest incident adds to concerns over the security situation in parts of Sokoto State, where rural communities continue to face attacks and abductions by armed groups.
