The Anambra State Police Command has intensified security operations across identified flashpoints, forests and suspected criminal hideouts in a renewed effort to tackle insecurity in the state.
The operation, which involves joint security personnel, Aguanachemba operatives and other security agencies, includes sustained bush-combing and clearance exercises aimed at flushing out criminal elements and dismantling their operational bases.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, October 31, 2026, explaining that the exercise is part of the command’s intelligence-driven strategy to deny criminals safe havens and disrupt their networks.
According to him, the operation is targeting areas suspected to be used by kidnappers, armed robbers and other violent criminal groups.
