The Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as Amotekun Corps, has arrested 10 suspected criminals in different parts of the state over alleged involvement in kidnapping, motorcycle theft, burglary and other offences.
The suspects were paraded at the corps’ headquarters in Akure on Monday by the state commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye.
According to Adeleye, two of the suspects were allegedly involved in the attempted kidnapping of a woman and her two children in the Osi/Isinigbo area of Akure North Local Government Area. The victims were reportedly rescued by Amotekun operatives.
The commander disclosed that members of the Fulani community in the affected areas assisted security operatives by providing information that helped identify and apprehend the suspected kidnappers.
One of the suspects, identified as 27-year-old Gambo, was allegedly arrested while negotiating a ransom. Another suspect, 19-year-old Murtala, was reportedly apprehended with a locally made firearm and other weapons.

Adeleye said Gambo allegedly confessed to participating in several kidnapping operations, including an alleged plan to abduct the wife of his former employer in Molege, Owo.
The commander also identified another suspect, Mustafa, as an alleged motorcycle thief and burglar who reportedly targeted churches and mosques. He said Mustafa was arrested following an alleged burglary at a church in Elegbeka.
Two other suspects, Joseph, 25, and Friday, 20, were reportedly arrested over alleged theft and resale of motorcycles. According to the commander, one of them allegedly helped conceal a stolen motorcycle and facilitated its sale for N70,000.
The remaining suspects were identified as Aniliasu, Duyilemi, Wahab, Kabiru and Aminu, 28.
Adeleye assured residents that Amotekun would continue its patrols and intelligence-led operations across Ondo State to curb criminal activities and ensure the safety of residents.
The suspects are expected to face further investigation and possible prosecution according to the outcome of the investigation.
