An Abuja-based disc jockey, VDJ Modi, has completed a remarkable 72-hour uninterrupted music performance as part of a Guinness World Records challenge aimed at setting a new benchmark for the longest DJ set.
The marathon event, tagged “Mobi’s Mixathon,” ran continuously for three full days under strict Guinness World Records guidelines, attracting attention from music lovers and supporters who gathered throughout the session.
The DJ, whose real name is Amaobi Udeh, described the experience as both physically exhausting and emotionally rewarding, noting that the attempt pushed her endurance and creativity to the limit.
“I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude and relief. The physical exhaustion is real, but the mental fulfilment is on another level. I am proud of the consistency we maintained throughout,” she said.
VDJ Modi explained that the set was carefully structured to maintain energy and audience engagement from start to finish, despite the demanding nature of performing without breaks for three consecutive days.

She also credited the Abuja crowd for playing a major role in sustaining her energy throughout the challenge.
“The crowd completely shattered the stereotype that Abuja audiences are reserved. They were the heartbeat of this marathon,” she added.
According to her, all Guinness World Records requirements were strictly followed, including proper documentation, witness coordination, and technical compliance throughout the 72-hour session.
She also acknowledged the strong logistical and sponsorship support that made the attempt possible, ensuring stable equipment performance, uninterrupted power supply, and continuous audience experience.
Beyond the record attempt, VDJ Modi said the event was designed to promote a social message, focusing on advocacy for the girl child and using music as a tool for awareness and empowerment.
“This wasn’t just entertainment. It was a 72-hour broadcast for a cause, to remind the world that the girl child deserves every opportunity to dream and achieve,” she said.
She encouraged aspiring record breakers to focus on discipline, preparation, and purpose, stressing that endurance challenges require strong mental resilience as much as physical strength.
Guinness World Records is expected to review the submission before making an official decision on whether the attempt will be certified.
