Abia Warriors forward Emeka Obioma has expressed disappointment after the team missed out on a continental ticket in the NPFL season.
The Umuahia-based side saw their hopes fade following back-to-back defeats that ended their push for a place in African competition. Obioma described the setback as painful and frustrating for the squad, which had worked hard to stay in contention throughout the campaign.
“It’s very unfortunate, very painful, I must say,” Obioma told Completesports. “We held strongly to our dream throughout the season but sadly lost grip at the wrong time. That’s how cruel football can be at times.”
