
Troops of Sector 2, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have rescued six kidnapped victims during separate encounters with suspected terrorists in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The operations took place around noon on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, after troops stationed at Kukawa received information about the movement of suspected terrorists towards Wanka Village.
Following the report, the troops moved into the area, forcing the suspected terrorists to flee on motorcycles.
During the subsequent search of the area, the soldiers found and rescued two victims who had been abandoned by the fleeing attackers.
The victims were identified as 14-year-old Muhammed Jibo and 12-year-old Muhammed Yahaya.
The two boys told the troops that they had been kidnapped on September 6, 2026, while travelling to meet their father at a farm in Dadin Kowa Village, Kanam Local Government Area.

In a separate operation around 11am on the same day, troops deployed at Yuli on a fighting patrol encountered suspected terrorists on the outskirts of Yuli Village in Wase LGA.
The terrorists reportedly abandoned four kidnapped victims and escaped into the forest following the encounter.
The rescued victims were identified as Yakubu Yahaya, 25; Yahuza Dapji, 22; Yahaya Jibo, 20; and Sani Abubakar, 18.
The four victims are all from Dadin Kowa Village in Kanam Local Government Area.
The victims were subsequently handed over to the Village Head of Yuli for further necessary action.
