
The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into an alleged extortion involving a dispatch rider and officers attached to the Makinde Divisional Headquarters.
The investigation followed the circulation of a video showing the officers stopping the rider, who reportedly claimed that he was forced to pay ₦20,000.
According to the police, the officers involved have reported to the Command Headquarters and are currently being questioned over the incident.

The Command said the investigation will establish what transpired and determine appropriate action against any officer found culpable.
The alleged incident has renewed concerns over accusations of police extortion in Lagos, coming only weeks after another resident reportedly accused police officers of demanding money from him after stopping his vehicle on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.
