
Panic has reportedly gripped Igbokoda, the headquarters of Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, following a helicopter crash in the riverine community on Monday.
The incident reportedly occurred in Igbokoda, with residents said to have rushed to safety after the helicopter came down.
At the time of filing this report, details about the number of people on board and the condition of possible survivors remained unclear. Efforts were reportedly underway to reach the crash site and determine the extent of the incident.
A resident confirmed the crash, saying, “Yes, it’s true. A helicopter just crashed now at Igbokoda, Ondo State.”

However, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Abayomi Jimoh, said he was not aware of the incident but promised to make inquiries.
Igbokoda is a major commercial centre in Ilaje, a coastal and oil-producing area where helicopters are often used for oil and gas-related operations.
The cause of the crash had not been established as of the time of filing this report.
