A man identified as Seyi has reportedly been shot dead at Ijako Market in Owode-Ijako, Ogun State, after suspected cultists allegedly mistook him for a member of a rival group.
The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday, September 23, when the attackers stormed the market in search of a man identified as Dammy.
According to a police source, the assailants located a group of young men behind the market and opened fire, killing Seyi. The incident was reportedly linked to the drug trade.

An anti-cultism advocacy platform, Naija Confra, also alleged that the victim was attacked with an axe after being shot.
The Ogun State Police Command has reportedly commenced an investigation and is working to identify and arrest those responsible. The state police spokesperson, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said he was not initially aware of the incident but promised to make enquiries.
