The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old man, Muyideen Olatunbosun, over alleged involvement in cult activities in the Ikorodu area of the state.
Olatunbosun was arrested during an intelligence-led anti-crime patrol covering the Idi-Iroko, Ogolonto and Agric areas of Ikorodu. The arrest was confirmed by the police in a statement issued on September 22, 2026.
The police said the arrest followed intelligence received by operatives during the patrol.
A search of the suspect reportedly led to the recovery of a rubber-made pistol, an axe, criminal charms and a substance suspected to be the illicit drug known as “Ice.”
The command said Olatunbosun remains in police custody and is assisting investigators with an ongoing investigation. Efforts are also underway to apprehend other suspected members of the alleged cult group.
The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for their vigilance and prompt response to credible information.
Fatai reaffirmed the command’s commitment to intelligence-led operations against cultism and other criminal activities across the state.
He also urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to the police to help prevent crime and apprehend suspected offenders.
