Nigerian troops have killed a suspected terrorist during an operation in Ungwan Nungu village, Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The troops, operating under Sector 7, Sub-Sector 71 Sanga, carried out the operation around 8pm on Friday, September 18, 2026, following intelligence about suspected terrorists hiding in the community.

Upon reaching the location, the troops engaged the suspects in a gun battle.
One of the suspects, identified as Bashir Mohammed, was killed during the encounter, while other members of the group reportedly escaped with possible gunshot wounds.
Security forces have launched a search for the fleeing suspects as operations continue in the area to prevent them from regrouping and launching further attacks.
