
One person has died while two others were injured after a two-storey building undergoing manual demolition partially collapsed in the Alimosho area of Lagos State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday at No. 42, Governors Road, Aboru. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) deployed its response team to the scene after receiving a distress call.
Rescue teams from LASEMA, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and the Lagos State Ambulance Service worked together to search the rubble and rescued two adult males.

The injured victims received first aid at the scene before being taken to a nearby health facility for further treatment. Sadly, one adult male was later recovered dead from beneath the debris.
LASEMA urged developers and property owners to strictly follow building and demolition regulations and engage certified professionals to prevent avoidable loss of lives.
Residents were also advised to report suspected unsafe building or demolition activities through the 767 or 112 emergency lines.
