
One person has died and several houses have been destroyed after heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds hit parts of Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The incident occurred on Monday night, September 7, between 11:30 pm and midnight, affecting parts of Shanga town, ’Yar Besse and nearby communities.
Several residents reportedly lost their homes and property as the heavy rain and strong winds caused significant destruction, including the collapse of buildings.

The incident was disclosed on Tuesday by Abubakar Aliyu Shanga, Special Adviser to the Kebbi State Governor on New Media.
Following the incident, the Chairman of Shanga Local Government Area, Abdullahi Abdullahi Mai Anguwa, visited the affected communities to assess the extent of the damage.
The council chairman is expected to submit a report on the incident and the level of destruction to the Kebbi State Governor.
