
A 45-year-old man identified as Mabur Simon has been killed by suspected assailants in Maori Village, Mbar District of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident occurred at about 9:20 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
A military source said troops of Sector 5, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), received a report of the attack and immediately mobilised to the community.
The troops reportedly arrived at the scene and confirmed that Simon had been killed.
The circumstances surrounding the attack remain unclear, while the identities of the perpetrators and their motive have not been established.

Security personnel have commenced investigations to determine what led to the killing and identify those responsible.
The military source said troops were maintaining vigilance in the area to prevent further attacks and reassure residents of their safety.
