
The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old man, Solomon Onaola, over the alleged rape of a 15-year-old domestic worker in Omifon, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.
The command’s spokesperson, Abayomi Jimoh, disclosed the arrest in a statement issued on Tuesday.
According to Jimoh, the matter was reported at the Odigbo Divisional Police Station by the teenager’s guardian after noticing that the girl had repeatedly left home without permission.
The police said the teenager was questioned about her whereabouts and allegedly disclosed that Onaola had been taking her to his late mother’s residence in Omifon, where the alleged sexual offences took place.

Following the report, police operatives commenced an investigation and arrested the suspect.
The case was subsequently transferred to the command’s Gender-Based Offences Unit for further investigation.
Jimoh said the teenager had been placed under appropriate care while the police continued to investigate the allegation in line with established procedures for cases involving minors.
The police spokesperson added that Onaola remains in custody and would be charged to court after the investigation is concluded.
The arrest comes as the police continue investigations into alleged sexual offences involving minors across the state.
