
A suspected bandit attack on Aboki community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State has left one person feared dead, while two kidnapped residents were rescued by security operatives.
The attack occurred on Tuesday when heavily armed gunmen reportedly invaded the community, causing panic among residents. Many villagers fled into nearby bushes, while others escaped to Kaiama town in search of safety.
According to security sources, the attackers allegedly killed a young man before abducting two other residents and attempting to flee with them.
Security personnel later responded to the incident and engaged the gunmen in an operation that resulted in the successful rescue of the two kidnapped victims. Details of the confrontation and whether any suspects were arrested were not immediately disclosed.
