Suspected kidnappers have abducted three farmers in Agbaje community, located along the Ala-Elefosan axis of Idanre Local Government Area in Ondo State.
The victims—two women and one man—were reportedly working on their farmland when the assailants struck and whisked them away to an unknown location.
A source familiar with the incident disclosed that the abductors have since reached out to the victims’ families, demanding a ransom of ₦5 million for each captive, bringing the total to ₦15 million.
One of the relatives, who spoke under anonymity, expressed distress over the situation, noting that the victims had gone about their usual farming activities before the unfortunate incident occurred.

“They left for the farm like every other day. We never expected this. Now the kidnappers are asking for ₦5 million each. We don’t know how to raise such money,” the source said.
The incident has been reported to the Ala Police Station as well as the Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun.
Reacting to the development, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Ondo State Command, Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed that the matter is under investigation and assured that efforts are underway to ensure the safe rescue of the victims.
The attack has further heightened concerns over the growing insecurity in rural communities, particularly affecting farmers and agrarian settlements.
