An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Mrs. Abimbola Olajumoke Olawumi, was reportedly abducted by suspected hoodlums in Abuja shortly after leaving the Court of Appeal on Wednesday.
According to sources, Olawumi had earlier appeared before the Supreme Court, where she represented herself in an appeal challenging the APC governorship primary in Ekiti State that produced Governor Abiodun Oyebanji as the party’s candidate.
The Supreme Court reportedly directed her to obtain Certified True Copies (CTCs) of relevant documents from the Court of Appeal before further proceedings in the case.
Sources alleged that after leaving the Court of Appeal, a group of suspected hoodlums attacked Olawumi, forced her into a black SUV, and drove her to an unknown location.
As of the time of filing this report, her whereabouts remained unknown, while the motive for the alleged abduction had not been established.

The incident comes amid her prolonged legal battle over the outcome of the APC governorship primary in Ekiti State.
The Court of Appeal had previously dismissed her appeal, ruling that her legal brief failed to comply with procedural requirements and lacked competent supporting arguments.
The court also upheld Governor Oyebanji’s nomination as the APC governorship candidate.
In a separate ruling delivered in June, the appellate court rejected Olawumi’s application to reopen her appeal after judgment had been reserved, describing the move as an abuse of the judicial process.
The Nigeria Police Force had yet to issue an official statement on the alleged abduction as of the time of this report, with efforts to reach the Federal Capital Territory Police Command proving unsuccessful.
