
Suspected bandits have killed a former Director of Personnel Management (DPM) of Ngaski Local Government Area, Alhaji Nasiru Mohammed, during a late-night attack in Kebbi State.
The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. in the Low Cost area of Yauri Local Government Area, where armed men reportedly stormed the victim’s residence in an attempt to abduct him.
According to reports, the former DPM resisted the attackers, prompting them to open fire. He was shot dead within the premises of his home, and his body was later recovered at the scene.
During the attack, the gunmen abducted his wife, Rukayyatu Abdullahi, alongside another woman identified as Malama Maryam Sale, a teacher at Abarshi Secondary School in Yauri. Their whereabouts remain unknown as of the time of this report.

Security operatives were said to have responded swiftly to the incident. In the process, one of the suspected attackers was neutralised, and a vehicle believed to have been used by the gang was recovered.
Authorities have since launched efforts to rescue the abducted victims and track down the fleeing suspects, while investigations into the attack are ongoing.
The tragic incident has plunged the Yauri community into mourning, with residents expressing grief over the loss.
Funeral prayers for the late Nasiru Mohammed were scheduled to take place on Friday following Jumu’ah prayers.
