Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have successfully repelled a coordinated attack by suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters on a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Logomani, Borno State, killing six insurgents and injuring several others.
According to security reports, the attack occurred in the early hours of July 7 when the insurgents launched an assault on the military position.
However, troops responded with intense resistance, forcing the attackers to retreat after suffering significant casualties.
A counter-insurgency source revealed that intelligence indicated the terrorists had earlier assembled at Garal before advancing towards the base. Following the failed operation, surviving fighters were reportedly seen regrouping at Chukun Gudu, where they buried six of their fallen members.
