The latest rankings see Mbappe move ahead of Argentina captain Lionel Messi, who slips to second place. Norway striker Erling Haaland sits third, while England’s Harry Kane occupies fourth position.
The rankings are based on players’ performances throughout the competition, with FIFA using match data to assess contributions in key areas such as attacking play, creativity, and defending. The ratings are updated after every match.

Switzerland’s Johan Manzambi, England’s Jude Bellingham, Brazil’s Vinicius Junior, Mexico’s Julian Quiñones, France’s Ousmane Dembele, and the Netherlands’ Crysencio Summerville complete the top 10 outfield players.
Among goalkeepers, Gregor Kobel of Switzerland, Paraguay’s Orlando Gill, Egypt’s Mostafa Shoubir, Spain’s Unai Simon, Norway’s Orjan Nyland, Cabo Verde’s Vozinha, England’s Jordan Pickford, Japan’s Zion Suzuki, and Morocco’s Yassine Bounou make up the rest of the top 10 rankings.
With the quarter-finals approaching, the rankings reflect the players who have made the biggest impact so far and could play decisive roles in the race for the 2026 FIFA World Cup title.
