Security operatives have arrested four suspected burglars after raiding a criminal hideout in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, during an intelligence-led operation aimed at curbing criminal activities.
The raid took place in the Omisanjana area, where officers apprehended the suspects and recovered a large quantity of items believed to have been stolen from shops in different parts of the city.
Among the recovered exhibits were assorted perfumes, bathing soaps, alcoholic beverages, food items, body care products, clothing materials, cotton fabrics, a school bag, a 3kg gas cylinder, and a sledgehammer suspected to have been used to break into shops.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were living together in the same apartment. Authorities also linked them to the recent burglary of a shop in the Ekute Quarters area near an ongoing Water Works construction site, where some of the suspects reportedly worked as labourers.
Investigators are working to identify the owners of the recovered property and trace other possible victims, while efforts continue to determine whether the suspects are connected to other burglary cases within and outside the area.
The police reaffirmed their commitment to tackling crime through intelligence-driven operations and urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to assist security agencies in protecting lives and property across the state.
