
The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with an armed robbery attack at a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) lodge located within the Specialist Hospital in Jimeta, Yola.
According to a statement released by the command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, the suspects identified as Elkana Ishaya (17), Mubarak Abubakar (22), Musa Umar (30), and Kabiru Tanko (20)—were apprehended following a swift investigation by operatives of the Karewa Area Command.
The incident reportedly occurred on June 27, 2026, when the suspects, armed with dangerous weapons, forcefully entered the corps members’ lodge and robbed about 36 residents of valuable items, including mobile phones.
Police authorities disclosed that upon receiving the distress report, officers immediately launched an operation that led to the arrest of the suspects and the recovery of four stolen mobile phones.

The command added that efforts are ongoing to track down other members of the robbery gang who are still at large, as well as recover additional stolen property.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Kabir Hassan, reassured residents especially corps members of the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
He also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
The suspects are expected to be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
