
Suspected armed robbers have invaded the female hostel of Adamawa State Polytechnic, Numan Campus, carting away mobile phones and other valuables in a disturbing early morning attack.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, May 27, reportedly involved assailants armed with guns, knives, and cutlasses. The attackers dispossessed students of at least 15 mobile phones, leaving many traumatized.
Eyewitness accounts revealed that some students who resisted the robbery were assaulted, sustaining injuries, while one victim reportedly fainted due to the shock and trauma of the incident.
The attack came at a time when many Muslim students were preparing for the upcoming Sallah celebrations, adding to the emotional distress experienced on campus.
Affected students have expressed anger and disappointment over what they described as poor security and negligence by the institution’s management.
They called for urgent measures to safeguard lives and property within the campus.

Confirming the incident, the Polytechnic’s Information Officer, Albert Matila, assured that the school management is aware of the situation and will visit the affected hostel to assess the damage and take necessary action.
The Numan Campus is the second largest campus of Adamawa State Polytechnic, after the main campus located in Jimeta, Yola.
As investigations continue, students and stakeholders are urging the authorities to strengthen campus security to prevent future occurrences.
