
Gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed the Chief Imam of Talluje village and two other people during coordinated attacks on communities in Bodinga Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The attackers reportedly invaded two communities in the Danchadi District on Thursday, opening fire on residents in an assault that lasted for nearly two hours.
According to community sources, the attack began at about 4:00 p.m. and continued until around 6:00 p.m., forcing residents to flee for safety as the gunmen shot indiscriminately.
The Chief Imam of Talluje was among those killed, while the identities of the two other victims had not been officially confirmed at the time of reporting.

After the attack, the assailants reportedly escaped with an unspecified number of rustled livestock, leaving the affected communities in fear.
Residents said the latest incident has further deepened concerns over insecurity in the area, noting that three chief Imams have now been killed in separate attacks within the district in recent weeks.
The spokesperson for the Sokoto State Police Command, DSP Ahmad Rufa’i, said he had not yet received an official briefing on the incident when contacted.
