
Police in Adamawa State have arrested 33 suspected criminals during a coordinated operation targeting areas believed to be strongholds of youth gangs popularly known as “Shila Boys.”
The operation, carried out by officers from various divisional commands, focused on several identified crime hotspots across Yola South and Girei Local Government Areas. According to the police, the raids were aimed at tackling armed robbery, drug-related offences, and other criminal activities.

The Adamawa State Police Command said the suspects were apprehended during the operation and are currently undergoing screening and profiling. Authorities stated that anyone found culpable would be charged to court, while investigations continue to determine their possible involvement in other criminal activities.
Security operatives also recovered several exhibits during the raids, including a cutlass, a knife, 10 razor blades, suspected banned substances, and dry leaves believed to be Indian hemp.
The police reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order across the state and urged residents to continue providing useful information that could assist security agencies in the fight against crime.
