
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested seven suspected criminals in a series of intelligence-led operations targeting armed robbery, one-chance robbery, cultism, illegal possession of firearms, and fraud across the state.
Police recovered a stolen Toyota Venza, a Toyota Camry allegedly used by a one-chance robbery syndicate, three locally made firearms, 17 stolen mobile phones, an HP EliteBook laptop, and ₦1.1 million linked to an alleged travel scam.
The suspects, identified as Bola Salau, Segun Balogun, Emmanuel Friday, Tunde Abioye, Ankpa James, Tunde Ogunseye, and Owodunni Seun, were arrested during separate operations carried out by officers from the Ilaro Area Command and the Ibafo, Mowe, Adatan, and Ode-Remo Divisions.

According to the police, a stolen Toyota Venza was intercepted during a stop-and-search operation in Ilaro. Investigators later confirmed that the vehicle had been stolen during a violent armed robbery in Osun State on June 23, 2026.
In another operation, detectives arrested two suspected members of a one-chance robbery syndicate after a female victim reported that her Samsung A16 phone and ₦120,000 cash had been stolen. The suspects were tracked to a hotel in Magboro, where they were arrested and the vehicle allegedly used for the crime was recovered.
Police also arrested a suspect accused of collecting ₦1.276 million from a 21-year-old victim under the false promise of arranging travel to Luxembourg. Investigators recovered ₦1.1 million, which was returned to the complainant.
Meanwhile, a suspected cult member was arrested during a security raid in Adatan after allegedly attempting to attack officers with a locally made pistol. A search of his residence led to the recovery of another firearm, while police also linked him to alleged drug-related activities.
In Ode-Remo, security operatives foiled an armed robbery targeting students after suspected robbers fled on sighting police. Officers recovered a Dane gun, two expended cartridges, 17 mobile phones, an HP EliteBook laptop, power banks, and other personal belongings abandoned at the scene.
The Commissioner of Police reaffirmed the command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing and warned criminals to abandon unlawful activities or face the full weight of the law. Residents were also urged to continue providing timely information to assist security agencies in preventing crime and apprehending offenders.
