
Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a 21-year-old suspect, identified as Samson Onilewaji, for allegedly being in possession of a suspected human body part, firearms, and other incriminating items.
The arrest was made during a routine stop-and-search operation along the Lekki–Epe Expressway.
According to police reports, officers intercepted an unregistered commercial shuttle bus carrying six occupants, during which a search was conducted.
Items recovered from the suspect include a suspected human right hand, two locally made pistols, one live cartridge, two axes, a Point of Sale (POS) terminal, and five Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the development in an official statement on Friday.
She disclosed that the suspect confessed to robbing three individuals of their belongings, including the recovered POS machine and ATM cards.

Police authorities have commenced investigations to determine the origin of the suspected human body part and the circumstances surrounding its possession.
Efforts are also ongoing to identify the victims and return their recovered property.
Additionally, the command has intensified efforts to track down other suspects believed to be connected to the crime.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to combating violent crime and ensuring the safety of residents across the state.
The suspect is expected to be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
