
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the killing of former Ogun State Television (OGTV) broadcaster, Olakitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, Pelumi Adetayo.
The prime suspect, 22-year-old Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip, reportedly confessed to orchestrating the attack, claiming it was intended to “teach her a lesson” over unresolved grievances during his time working for the deceased.
Speaking during a press briefing at the command headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, disclosed that the suspect was apprehended on June 24, 2026, at a construction site in Ibara GRA, where he had been working as a labourer.
Further investigations led to the arrest of two additional suspects identified as Sakirudeen Abdulraheem Ayoola, 27, and Sobu Obafunsho, 36, who were allegedly recruited by Philip to carry out the crime.
According to the police, the incident occurred on June 20, 2026. The suspects reportedly overpowered the security guard at the residence, using him to gain access into the home before attacking both victims.
The bodies of the victims were discovered following a distress alert raised by a concerned resident. Signs of forced entry and disturbance were observed at the scene.

Police also revealed that the deceased’s Lexus RX 330 vehicle, initially reported missing, was later recovered through intelligence-led tracking in the Onikolobo area of the state
. A note found inside the vehicle played a crucial role in advancing the investigation and identifying the suspects.
Items recovered in connection with the crime include a broken hammer, cutlass, plank, and a black pen.
The police emphasized that while the suspects have made confessional statements, they remain entitled to due process under the law.
Authorities assured that investigations are ongoing to ensure diligent prosecution and justice for the victims.
The Ogun State Police Command reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order and bringing all individuals involved in criminal activities to justice.
