A pregnant woman was among those killed when gunmen attacked a Primary Health Centre in Kawel community, Mushere District of Bokkos Local Government Area, Plateau State, on Sunday night.
The victim, identified as Larai Danjuma, had been taken to the health facility after going into labour and was preparing to deliver her baby when the attackers stormed the area.
The incident was disclosed by her brother, Daniel Nanle, who spoke during a condolence visit by Plateau State Deputy Governor, Ngo Josephine Chundung Piyo, to families affected by the attack.

Nanle recounted that his sister was admitted to the labour room shortly before the gunmen invaded the health centre. According to him, the attackers killed her alongside other patients and health workers who were at the facility.
The assault formed part of a wider attack on the community, where armed men reportedly struck while residents were asleep. At least 22 people, including security personnel, health workers and civilians, lost their lives in the violence.
Describing the loss as heartbreaking, Nanle appealed to both the state and federal governments to strengthen security measures and protect vulnerable communities from further attacks.
The deputy governor expressed sympathy to the bereaved families and assured residents that the government would continue efforts to address the security challenges facing the area.
The attack has once again raised concerns over the persistent violence in parts of Plateau State, with residents calling for urgent action to prevent future tragedies.
