
An 18-year-old man, Abdullahi Aminu, has died after falling into a pond at Kofar Gabas in Danbatta Local Government Area of Kano State.
The incident occurred on Tuesday at about 3:28 p.m., according to the Kano State Fire Service.
The agency’s Public Relations Officer, ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, disclosed the incident in a statement issued on Wednesday.
He said the Fire Service received a distress call from Aminu Lawan, who reported that his son had fallen into a pond.

Following the report, firefighters from the Danbatta Fire Station were immediately deployed to the scene.
The rescue team recovered Aminu from the pond unconscious and attempted to revive him. However, he was later confirmed dead.
The deceased was subsequently handed over to the Secretary to the District Head of Danbatta, Alhaji Baba Ado Sarkin Bai, for further necessary action.
The Kano State Fire Service expressed sympathy to the family of the deceased over the tragic incident.
The agency also urged residents to exercise caution around ponds, waterways and other bodies of water, particularly during the rainy season, to prevent similar incidents.
