Police in Delta State have arrested a man suspected to be an internet fraudster following the death of his girlfriend in Warri South Local Government Area of the state.
The tragic incident reportedly occurred in the Edjeba community, where the suspect and the victim were said to have been living together. Residents of the area were left in shock after the woman was found dead inside the suspect’s apartment under disturbing circumstances.
According to sources, the alarm was raised after neighbours heard unusual noises coming from the residence. Concerned by the situation, the landlord reportedly contacted the police, who swiftly responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers searched the apartment and discovered the lifeless body of the young woman. The suspect was immediately taken into custody, while the victim’s remains were evacuated to a morgue for preservation and further examination.

Residents disclosed that the deceased had been seen the previous day purchasing food items and spending time with the suspect. Many described the pair as a close couple who were frequently seen together around the neighbourhood.
The Delta State Police Command confirmed the arrest, stating that investigations have commenced to determine the motive behind the incident and establish all the facts surrounding the case.
Authorities assured residents that a thorough investigation would be carried out and that anyone found responsible would face prosecution in accordance with the law.
