
The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man, Abdulmumini Sarki, over alleged involvement in criminal conspiracy and kidnapping in Kirfi Local Government Area of the state.
Sarki, who resides in Ziriyalo Hamlet near Tubule Village, Kirfi LGA, was apprehended by operatives of the Kirfi Divisional Police Headquarters at about 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026.
The arrest followed credible intelligence received by the police, according to a statement issued by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, on Sunday.
The police said the suspect had previously been declared wanted in connection with the alleged offences.
During the operation, officers recovered a Boxer motorcycle with registration number GME 224WW, along with its engine and chassis numbers.
An Itel keypad mobile phone containing Glo and MTN SIM cards was also recovered from the suspect.
The command said Sarki is currently in police custody, while the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Bauchi for further investigation.
