
Six teams have been eliminated from the 2026 World Cup after losing their first two group matches.
Uzbekistan and Panama are the latest to exit the tournament. Uzbekistan, making their World Cup debut, lost 3-1 to Colombia before being thrashed 5-0 by Portugal in Group K. Panama also fell to back-to-back defeats, losing 1-0 to Ghana and then 1-0 to Croatia in Group I.
They join Haiti, Turkey, Tunisia, and Jordan, whose exits have already been confirmed.

Despite the early exits, the expanded 2026 format gives other teams a second chance. The eight best third-placed teams across all groups will advance to the Round of 32 alongside the top two teams from each group.
The tournament continues as the remaining sides push for a spot in the knockout stage.
