Algeria came from behind to beat Jordan 2-1 on Tuesday, becoming the fifth African nation to secure a win at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Desert Warriors overturned an early deficit in their Group J clash at San Francisco Bay Area Stadium in Santa Clara. Goals from Nadhir Benbouali and Amine Gouiri sealed all three points for the North Africans after a 3-0 loss to Argentina in their opening game.
The result puts Algeria alongside Egypt, Ivory Coast, Ghana, and Morocco as the African countries to have won a match so far in the tournament.
