
The United Kingdom Metropolitan Police has arrested three people in connection with the stabbing death of British-Nigerian singer Mark Orabiyi, also known as Talay Riley. The 35-year-old musician was found with stab wounds in the garden of a property on Rayleigh Road and was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts by paramedics.
According to a statement released by the Met Police, officers responded to the incident on Friday alongside the London Ambulance Service. While formal identification is yet to be completed, the victim has been named as Mark Orabiyi. Specialist officers are supporting his family as investigations continue.
Orabiyi’s family paid tribute to him as a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend. They described him as someone who brought love, light and joy to everyone around him. The family said his kindness, spirit and talent touched many lives and his memory will remain in their hearts forever.

27-Year-Old Nigerian Arraigned for Murder in London
The Met Police confirmed that three suspects were arrested on suspicion of murder. They include two men aged 24 and 27, and a 25-year-old woman. After questioning, the 27-year-old man was released on bail pending further enquiries while the 24-year-old man and the 25-year-old woman were released with no further action.
A second victim, a 20-year-old man, was also taken to hospital after sustaining multiple stab wounds that were not life-threatening. Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke, who is leading the investigation, described the incident as tragic and appealed for public assistance.
She urged anyone who was in the area at the time or has CCTV footage from the morning of the incident to contact the police to help with enquiries.
The killing of Mark Orabiyi has sparked reactions across the British-Nigerian community, with many mourning the loss of a talented artist whose music and personality impacted fans at home and abroad.
