Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have uncovered consignments of illicit drugs concealed inside water purifier machines imported into Lagos from the Netherlands.
The agency disclosed that the illegal shipment, intercepted at a courier facility on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, contained three kilogrammes of ketamine and 199 grammes of MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy.
In a separate operation in Kaduna State, NDLEA officers arrested a couple, Musa Sunday and Mercy Sunday, alongside another suspect, Salomi Ezekiel, 38.
The arrests followed the discovery of 100 jumbo bags of skunk, weighing a total of 1,246 kilogrammes, at their residence in the Gonin Gora area on May 24.
Further enforcement along the Abuja-Kaduna highway near Jere led to the arrest of a 30-year-old suspect, Sunusi Musa, who was found transporting 380 rounds of military-grade 7.62mm ammunition allegedly bound for Katsina State.
The suspect and recovered ammunition were subsequently handed over to relevant security authorities for further investigation.
