A 15-year-old girl, identified as Chioma Marvellous Igwebuike Offor, has been declared missing in Umuahia, Abia State, sparking concern among residents and her family.
Chioma reportedly went missing on Tuesday, May 27, 2026—coinciding with the Children’s Day celebration—after leaving her family home at Timber Housing Estate around 10:30 a.m.
According to family sources, the teenager had gone to a nearby shop within the estate where she was learning hair braiding.
She later sought permission from her instructor to briefly return home to use the restroom, a routine she had followed on previous occasions.
However, Chioma never made it back home or returned to the shop, raising alarm among relatives and neighbors.

The family has since reported the incident to the Central Police Station (CPS) on Bende Road, Umuahia, and efforts are ongoing to locate her.
In an emotional appeal, the family urged members of the public to assist with any useful information that could lead to her safe return.
“Please, if you have seen her or have any information at all, no matter how little, kindly reach out immediately. One message, one call, or one share could help bring her back home safely,” a family member pleaded.
Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the nearest police station or reach out to the family directly.
